Welcome to RTI Radio

Continuing our efforts to make maximum people aware about right to information, Kabir is starting two shows in a week on AIR FM channel. The programme would be aired at 5 pm every Wednesday and Sunday on AIR FM's Rainbow channel and would be relayed in following cities:


Programme coverage :-

Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu Kashmir, West Bengal, Assam, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Maharashtra, Kerala and Goa apart from Delhi.


Broadcast stations : -

Delhi, Aligarh, Kanpur, kasauli (uttaranchal), Madhubani, Jammu, Kochi, Kurseong, Mussorie, and Shillong.


The show is being hosted by Manish Sisodia and Ruchi Jha of Kabir. The first Wednesday show would be on air on 16th September, 2009 at 5 pm.


The program will be in the form of a chit chat along with entertaining songs. The Wednesday programme focuses on making people aware about the usage of Right to Information in their lives, procedure to file RTI application and also presenting such examples wherein the marginalized segment has used RTI and brought a remarkable change in their living style.


One such example is of an old lady in Madhubani district in Bihar who used RTI to get the money allotted through Indira Awaas without paying any bribe to officials.


Similarly, Santosh Singh of Dhansoi village in Bihar raised questions through RTI on his area to be awarded ‘Nirmal Gram Award’ when maximum house in his village had no toilets. RTI proved to be a boon as toilets were constructed immediately in several houses.


A similar example taken up is of manual scavengers in a village in Uttar Pradesh and how RTI helped in bringing change in their living style.
